To keep up with the team changes we went through in my last update, Empire Racing has gone through some more changes.  Changes for the better, as the team has never worked as smooth or organized as it has in the past couple of races. We have a new crew chief and some new faces around the shop. Andy Shaver (former setup guru) has stepped up to take a swing at being Empire's crew chief, with the assistance of team manager John Bellesfield of Excel Motorsports Management.

Crew Chief Andy Shaver didn't just start at our team, he has been working with us for a while doing final setup, car prep, body work, and over the wall crew.  Shaver has had a lot of crew chiefing experience in the past for other teams and has really helped to boost the attitude of the team. Since Salem and Toledo Speedway, we have run many different styles of race tracks on the ARCA circuit. Two of the toughest were Berlin and Iowa Speedway, on which we had our best finishes of the season of 12th and 9th. I like the current team and feel it is only going to continue to grow stronger and smoother.

Going into the remaining half of the season I will have United Way on the tail of my car. I am proud to have them on the car as we have a close partnership with them through my family’s school bus company.  I have seen how driven they are to help people, so I am happy to drive supporting them on my car.  I want to thank them for their community support all over New York and the country.

I am really looking forward to the upcoming ARCA races. Lucas Oil Raceway in Indiana should be a fun track. It’s a 5/8 mile flat track. I just finished running a 5/8 mile dirt track in New York with almost the same characteristics. I just need to remember not to slide the car through the turns like a dirt track!  The other track coming up that I enjoy racing at is Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania. This track is the closest track to me on the ARCA schedule.  Andy and the crew have been prepping my favorite car for the track .I have ran this car every time I have run at Pocono and have even found some things after the last race that will really improve the car!

Thanks for taking the time to keep up with me and to everyone racing have a safe rest of your 2011 season.
